South Haven Wins State Land Judging - On to Nationals!

The South Haven Senior Land Judging team is going to National FFA Land Judging Contest. This caps off a great season for the land judging teams. On September 30, the senior and greenhand judging teams participated in the district land judging contest at Centre. The greenhand team placed 1st in their division, with Addison Heater (High Individual), Kelly Theurer (2nd High Individual), Mae Nicholson (4th High Individual), and Arallai Wartick (7th High Individual).

But the day wasn't over for South Haven. The senior land judging team also took 1st, and qualified for State Land Judging on October 6. Jacee Theurer was the High Individual, Lizzie Giger (2nd High Individual)Syra Stucky (7th High Individual) and Tucker Locke (19th High Individual). Dylan DeWitt was 9th High Individual as a B Team Member which was 7th High Team. 

State Land Judging team members then competed at State Land Judging at Fairfield. Once again the team placed first, with Lizzie Giger placing 1st and Jacee Theurer placing 4th. The team will compete at National Land Judging Contest next spring in Oklahoma. Congratulations to all our land judgers!

South Haven FFA Celebrates Success at Chapter Banquet

The South Haven FFA honored chapter members at their banquet on March 11. Heidi Theurer received the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree.  Jacee Theurer was the Star Greenhand, Syra Stucky received the Star Chapter Award, and Lucas Kuchar, Slate VanZant, and Sydney Hallman received recognition for earning State FFA degrees. Seth Brown was recognized for earning his National FFA Degree. District proficiency award winners were Ethan Theurer for Grain Production and Ben Russell for Diversified Crop Production. Grace Theurer was District Runner-Up for Swine Production Entrepreneurship. Others winning chapter proficiency awards were Sydney Hallman, Lucas Kuchar, Dylan DeWitt, and Slate VanZant. Lucas Kuchar was recognized for his participation in National FFA Choir. High point fruit and meat sales went to Sydney Hallman. Sydney Bacon was the DeKalb Award winner.  High point winners for their classes were Jacee Theurer, Syra Stucky, Dylan DeWitt, and Sydney Bacon. Congratulations to all the award winners!
