11 Games In

The South Haven softball team so far has played eight games and their record is at 6-5 and 5-3 in league play. They have had some great wins and close losses. The seniors favorite moments so far are their great improvement in hitting and mercy rule in a win over Udall at home.

The team's favorite wins were against Elk Valley and Udall because ‘the score was high’. Shianne Howell said. Their worst loss was against Sedan because there were many infield errors. They have improved in a little bit of everything since the start of the season and hope to keep improving. Chandra has been the most improved by increasing her abilities to field and hit since the first game.

South Haven’s next double header is at home against the Central Raiders on Monday, April 24 at 4 pm.

Softball Season Introduction

The South Haven Ladies first softball game was Monday, March 27 against Elk Valley. They began their double header at 4 P.M. The Cardinals have had high hopes for the season and were looking to start the season on a high note and they got what the wanted, winning their first two games, 18-3 and 20-5.

To start the game off, Shianne Howell unfortunately struck out on her first time batting, but the Lady Cardinals wouldn't let that get the best of them. Some of the seniors mentioned that their favorite part of the game was Cynae Wiley hitting a homerun on her first time batting to start the year off.

Shianne Howell, one of the seniors, explained that they had been well disciplined during their first two games which helped them seal the deal. Other team members are looking to stay optimistic and are hoping for another win against the West Elk Patriots.
