Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)/ Seatbelts Are For Everyone (SAFE)

SADD envisions a world in which young people make positive decisions that advance their health and safety.  SAFE is a teen-run, peer-to-peer program focusing on increasing teen restraint compliance through education, positive rewards and enforcement. It is designed to bring awareness to the importance of wearing a seatbelt, therefore reducing the number of motor vehicle-related injuries and fatalities among Kansas teens. The goal of SAFE is to increase seatbelt use among students while providing strong traffic safety messages throughout the school year.

These two organizations have been combined into one club at South Haven School. Through this organization, students gain real world leadership experience on a multitude of levels within their community, while learning about positive peer-to-peer interactions, healthy relationships with family and caring adults, and collaboration and alliance with other entities that also support youth. Mrs. Stroman is the sponsor of this group.
