Another Great Season

The junior high girl’s basketball team recently ended a terrific season under the coaching of Jenni Cully. The girls’ last game was Saturday the 11th, finishing 2nd place. The 8th grade girls answered some questions telling us about their season.

The team was asked what their favorite game of the season was. Most of them said the Flint Hills game was their favorite game because they have never beaten Flint Hills before and it was very exciting to beat them. Flint Hills was also their hardest opponent because they were much faster, the girls said. The best moment of the girls’ season they said was to play Caldwell and hold them to 0 points and finish the game 42-0.

Cardinals Finish Strong

The South Haven boys finished their season last Saturday with a win in the third place game in the SCBL tournament.

Looking back on their season they had some great times and the eighth grader’s favorite moment was when Cooper almost hit the ceiling throwing the ball in excitement after taking third against Argonia. Their hardest opponent was Caldwell because they have great talent. They really enjoy the Sedan game because of the flow and great teamwork.

They finished the regular season five and six. The Cardinals were not expected to do much in the tournament but ended with a victory putting them at seven and seven for the season.

JH Boys Basketball Wonders

The junior high boys basketball recently started under returning head coach Tina Clausen and Assistant coach Cory Ellis. This is Tina’s second year in a row as head coach and Cory’s first year. we asked the 8th grade boys a few questions about how they think their season will turn out.

All the boys said this was their favorite sport of the year when they were asked. We also asked if they enjoyed the outcome of their season last year, to which they replied they didn’t, but are looking to better themselves. Our final question was who their hardest opponent would be this season, the boys said Flint Hills would be their hardest opponent.
